Price increases are coming

Hankyung, a South Korean news source, reported that Samsung is thinking about raising smartphone prices because of increasing expenses. Newdaily points out that the Galaxy S25's success is due to offering more value at the same price.

The Galaxy S25 models used the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The upcoming Galaxy S26 phones will likely use the Exynos 2600 in all regions except North America, China, and Japan. The Exynos 2600 is reportedly a powerful chip, which is a good reason to use it in the Galaxy S26 series. The report indicates Samsung also intends to use it to lower expenses.

With memory prices continually rising, Samsung may eventually be forced to increase prices. The Galaxy S26 might be the last phone to avoid a price hike.

A Galaxy S26 series price increase would be difficult to justify.

The Galaxy S26 family is reportedly delayed until March because Samsung decided not to discontinue the Plus model. The phones are not expected to offer any significant upgrades.

The uncertainty surrounding the release has already negatively impacted the launch. Consumers might be unwilling to accept a price increase unless the phones represent a major upgrade.
