A leaked video showcases the upcoming Motorola Edge 70, which is rumored to be less than 6mm thick.

One of Motorola's most interesting devices in ages holds no more cosmetic secrets and is clearly inching closer to an official announcement.
Motorola's competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and Apple iPhone Air, initially expected in 2026, may launch in China later this year.
The leaked device, shown in a 30-second video by Evan Blass, is assumed to be the international Edge 70, not the China-exclusive X70 Air teased earlier this week with an October announcement.
If Blass has promotional material for the Edge 70, it could arrive in India, Europe, and possibly the US in 2025 to compete with the Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone Air.
The standard Edge 70 is expected to follow the Edge 60 with mid-range specs and an affordable price. Higher-end Pro and Ultra versions could arrive soon too.
The leaked promo video from Evan Blass appears legitimate but lacks sound and text.
While details are limited, the Pantone Lily Pad color and a 50MP rear camera with optical image stabilization seem confirmed.
Evan Blass predicts a "sub-6mm" thickness.
The iPhone Air and Galaxy S25 Edge are 5.6 and 5.8mm thick, respectively, so the Edge 70 might be slightly thicker.
Motorola's ultra-thin phone is unlikely to be a flagship. Like the Edge 60, it could cost around €500 ($585) in Europe with 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, and a large battery.
The Moto G86 Power has a 6,720mAh battery and is 8.7mm thick, suggesting Motorola could surpass Samsung in battery life.
Besides Pantone Lily Pad, the Motorola Edge 70 is shown in "Gadget Gray" and "Bronze Green," but it's unclear if they will use vegan leather or shiny glass.
The device is intriguing. It is appealing to those who prefer mid-range phones, any mid-range processor should be sufficient in the Edge 70.
Ideally, the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC would be replaced with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, such as a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. A stylish and durable Edge 70 with a 5,000mAh battery and a sub-$500 price in the US is desired.
