A new 7.7 mm smartphone with a 7,000 mAh battery is rumored to outperform the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Oppo has just launched a phone that puts the best from Apple and Samsung to shame.
The A6 Max has typical features for a smartphone in its category, including a 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2800x1280 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and peak brightness up to 1,600 nits. Its rear camera includes a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, while the front camera has a 32MP sensor.
The phone is available in China for CNY 1,599 (roughly $223) in white and blue. It is not yet known whether Oppo will release the device outside of China, but it could be a strong mid-range option if it does.
Silicon-carbon batteries are enabling larger batteries in thinner devices. Though they have some drawbacks, this technology could improve phones like the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Currently, Apple and Samsung have not used this battery type in any of their products.
While a larger battery alone may not be worth purchasing a mid-range phone, the possibility of significant battery upgrades in flagship phones could influence upgrade decisions. The availability of larger batteries in Apple, Samsung, and Google devices is eagerly anticipated.
