A new leak reveals details about Samsung's rumored Galaxy Z TriFold, showcasing its unique foldable design.

Samsung’s most ambitious foldable yet just popped up, and it looks closer to launch than anyone expected.
Although its release is still months away, videos offer the best look yet at Samsung's upcoming tri-fold phone, potentially the company's most ambitious Galaxy device.
Videos posted on YouTube by OMG Electronics and SUBUSUNEWS show a device that folds twice inward. This design choice should better protect the flexible display when the phone is not in use, which is a key difference from Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate, which has an outward fold that leaves part of the main screen exposed.
The Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to have two screens: a 6.5-inch external display and a 10-inch internal foldable display. The bezels on both screens appear thicker than those on Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is to be expected for first-generation hardware.
When fully open, the Z TriFold appears thinner than the Z Fold 7. When closed, the device is noticeably thicker due to the additional hinge. The hinges also appear to have different radii: one hinge is tighter, while the other provides space for the first foldable section to layer on top.
On the rear, the Z TriFold has a triple-lens camera system that resembles the Z Fold 7’s. It may even use the same hardware, with a 200MP main lens, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Both the external and foldable displays include a punch-hole selfie camera.
The top edge has a speaker grille and three microphones, while the power and volume controls are located on the right side.
The folding mechanism looks more refined than in earlier prototypes, suggesting that this model may be closer to production.
When Samsung previewed the tri-fold last week, the device was kept in a display case, with only brief views for attendees.
Rumors suggest the phone will run on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, cost $3,000, and have a limited production run of 50,000 to 200,000 units. It is expected to launch first in South Korea, China, Singapore, Taiwan, and possibly the UAE, while Europe and the US may be excluded from the initial release.
While the preview suggested Samsung's confidence in its foldable technology, the new leaks suggest that the Z TriFold is refined enough for a commercial launch in 2026.
If the Z TriFold is released, its inward-folding design could give Samsung an advantage over Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate, making it more resistant to wear and tear. It would also come with Samsung's familiar software and the possibility of entering the US market.
Regardless of its features, its high price and limited availability will likely make the Z TriFold a niche product. Although foldable phones have become more popular recently, they have yet to replace traditional smartphones. Even if the Z TriFold reaches the US, it is unlikely to gain mainstream popularity.
