A new report details the expected battery and charging capabilities of the upcoming OnePlus 15.

OnePlus is skipping 14, but it’s not skipping on battery life and charging upgrades.
OnePlus is expected to maintain its position as a leader in battery and charging technology. The OnePlus 15 may feature a large 7,000–7,800 mAh silicon-carbon battery, 120W wired charging, and 50W wireless charging. Paired with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and a 165Hz display, the OnePlus 15 could be a powerful flagship with long battery life in 2026.
The OnePlus 15 is expected to have improved battery performance. The phone could have a 7,800 mAh battery, a notable increase from the OnePlus 13's 6,000 mAh battery.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, produced using TSMC’s 3nm process, combined with silicon-carbon battery technology, should allow the phone to last at least two days with typical usage, even with the 165Hz display.
Current information suggests the OnePlus 15 will feature a 7,800 mAh battery, a significant upgrade from the OnePlus 13's 6,000 mAh. Initial reports mentioned a 7,000 mAh battery, and the battery size of global models may differ slightly from the Chinese version. Regardless, the battery should be one of the largest among flagship phones.
Model Battery
OnePlus 15 Si/C Li-Ion 7000-7800 mAh*
OnePlus 13 Si/C Li-Ion 6000 mAh
OnePlus 12 Li-Po 5400 mAh
*Chinese version; global models may vary
The OnePlus 15 is expected to support 50W wireless charging, which is faster than many flagship phones from Apple, Samsung, and Google. However, the larger battery might result in slower wireless charging times compared to the OnePlus 13, which also supports 50W wireless charging.
Reverse wireless charging is also expected, even though it has not been mentioned in reports. The previous two OnePlus flagships offered 10W reverse wireless charging, and it will likely be included on the new phone. This is sufficient for charging devices like earbuds or smartwatches.
The OnePlus 15 will likely use OnePlus’s SuperVOOC charging system. The official charger and cable will be needed to reach the full 120W charging speed.
Regional variations are possible:
China/India/Europe: up to 120W wired charging
North America: potentially limited to 80W
Third-party USB Power Delivery chargers will likely offer slower charging speeds, around 18–45W.
The OnePlus 15 is rumored to have 120W wired and 50W wireless charging capabilities, potentially making it one of the fastest-charging phones available.
Tests of the OnePlus 13 showed its 100W SUPERVOOC system charged the phone to 86% in 30 minutes and fully charged it in 43 minutes. This was faster than the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (1h 9m wired) and the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max (1h 42m wired). The OnePlus 13 also demonstrated strong wireless charging performance, reaching 41% in 30 minutes and fully charging in 1h 29m, surpassing Samsung and Apple flagships.
If the OnePlus 15 can achieve 120W charging, full charge times could decrease to approximately 25–30 minutes, even with the larger 7,800 mAh battery. Wireless charging at 50W should fully charge the device in under 90 minutes using the AIRVOOC charger.
The official charger and cable are needed to achieve the maximum charging speeds, as with the OnePlus 13. Standard USB-C PD chargers will result in slower speeds, around 25–45W.
