A Pixel 10 feature will be available on all Android phones.

Once again Google is backporting a feature to older Android phones.
The "Help me edit" function simplifies photo editing, offering quicker results than conventional methods. Google states that it eliminates the need to switch between various tools. For older photos, users can request a restoration or simply ask to "Make it better" for automatic enhancements. The tool can also modify images by changing backgrounds or adding accessories like sunglasses.
Located in the Google Photos app under Edit > Tools, "Help me edit" prompts users to describe desired changes. A progress bar indicates the request's status. Google is launching this feature for compatible Android devices. However, it is not yet available on a Pixel 6 Pro running Android 16 QPR2 Beta, or an iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 26.
"Help me edit" allows users to request changes in a conversational manner, specifying adjustments like removing background cars or making general improvements. The feature uses Google's Gemini AI, which also powers other Google Photo functions like Reimagine.
"Help me edit" lets users direct AI to alter an image. One tool used is Reimagine. For instance, requesting a "sunny beach" background utilizes the "Reimagine" tool.
The features perform tasks precisely. Tests included adding accessories like baseball caps, sunglasses, top hats, and monocles to a dog's photo. Results showed the dog appearing to wear the items naturally. The feature's conversational aspect allows users to type or speak their desired changes.
This feature, initially intended for the Pixel 10, is now available on older phones, a common practice by Google. This strategy can reduce sales of the newer phone, which was to have "Help me edit" as an exclusive.
