A recent revelation has damaged customer trust in T-Mobile.

More than 90 percent of readers we surveyed lack confidence in T-Mobile.
The survey yielded 3,915 responses. Almost 41 percent, or 1,602 respondents, stated they had already lost faith in T-Mobile prior to the court's public announcement. Besides SIM swap schemes, which involve gaining access to T-Mobile's systems by deceiving or bribing workers, the company has also suffered multiple hacks. Therefore, it is not surprising that many subscribers had doubts about T-Mobile.
Approximately 52 percent, or 2,028 customers, reported that the recent news damaged their confidence in T-Mobile. Although customers of other companies have experienced SIM swap attacks, T-Mobile bears more responsibility because it was identified by criminals as a simpler target. The reasons for this are the company's security vulnerabilities and inadequate employee training to identify and stop SIM swap attempts.
Only 7 percent, or 285 individuals, remained unaffected by the disclosures, because T-Mobile has since implemented measures to prevent attacks. For example, the company has updated its SIM swap approval process and implemented advanced network APIs for Number Verification and SIM Swap.
These results indicate that rebuilding confidence will be difficult, particularly since T-Mobile customers still remember the incidents clearly. T-Mobile will need to win back consumer confidence by making sure security breaches are prevented from happening again and fixing issues promptly when they arise.
