Honor’s rumored mini smartphone could put Samsung’s ultra flagship to shame.

The Magic8 Mini may be marketed as a small flagship phone, but its specifications might not be as impressive as those of larger models. The phone may use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. The primary camera could be reduced from a 200MP sensor to a 50MP sensor of the 1/1.5"-type. It might also have a telephoto lens, but the specifications are unknown.

Honor is not the only Chinese manufacturer planning to release a smaller flagship device. OnePlus is expected to release the OnePlus 15T, possibly called the OnePlus 15s outside of China, featuring a 6.3-inch screen and a large battery. However, it probably will not be as slim as the Magic8 Mini.

While a 6.3-inch phone seems small compared to the 6.9-inch ultra flagships, referring to it as "mini" seems inaccurate. While a compact design with a large battery is appealing, an even smaller display would be preferable.
