A Redditor, RockGood8899, shared advice for T-Mobile third-party retail employees, suggesting they update their resumes and save money due to a challenging job market and expressing recent dissatisfaction with their work at T-Mobile.
The Redditor mentions dealing with issues from online activations and customer service orders, for which they feel they are not compensated. They also shared an instance of helping a customer save $90 monthly by reviewing their account and offering a new iPad and watch, an action the T-Life app couldn't replicate.
RockGood8899 also recounted having DoorDash orders stolen, saying filing a claim with DoorDash was more difficult than dealing with T-Mobile customer service. They advised both T-Mobile customers and employees to stop using the T-Life app, predicting that retail employees will soon be unable to assist with personal information.
One T-Mobile customer recounted being required to use the T-Life app in-store to upgrade their phone, even when they preferred to pay directly with a sales representative. The representative stated the app was required for the order.
If T-Mobile closes its third-party retail locations, it would further transform the company into a digital Mobile Network Operator (MNO) with its own 5G infrastructure. Eliminating stores and personnel would reduce overhead and increase profits, benefiting shareholders, including former CEO Mike Sievert, who reportedly holds about 348,813 shares worth around $73 million based on Friday's closing price.
