A T-Mobile user discovered unauthorized access to unreleased features.

A T-Mobile user enabled satellite data on their Galaxy Z Fold 7 unofficially.
A T-Mobile customer activated satellite data on a Pixel 9 Pro and Galaxy S24 Ultra using Android's CarrierConfigManager.
After setup, optimized apps can be used in areas lacking cellular signals. Currently, only a few apps are compatible, such as WhatsApp, Google Maps, Google Find Hub, X, T-Life, and Messages. Functionality may be limited compared to standard versions.
T-Mobile also released a list of phones that will soon support satellite data, including the Apple iPhone 13 series and later, Pixel 9, Galaxy S22 series and later, Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 5 series and later, Z Fold 5 series and later, select Samsung mid-range phones, Motorola phones, and REVVL phones.
However, T-Mobile specified that certain phones will not support the feature, including the Pixel 9a, several 2024 Motorola models, Galaxy S21, and Galaxy Z Fold 4.
The carrier is collaborating with developers to optimize additional apps for satellite connectivity. Like other satellite services, users should anticipate delays, and T-Mobile clarified that it is not high-speed data. Users should also download supported apps before entering areas without terrestrial coverage.
T-Mobile is a good option for people who are frequently in areas with poor cell service.
T-Mobile will soon release "Iconic Phones: Revolution at Your Fingertips," a coffee table book about the technological revolution of the 21st century.
