Amazon is rolling out a new system that uses in-store cameras to track shoppers and analyze their behavior.

Lens Live turns your phone into a shopping radar, instantly spotting products and matching them on Amazon.

Users can select items visible through their camera to magnify them, easily put products in their online cart using the + symbol, or save items to a wish list using the heart symbol, all without exiting the camera function.

Amazon is incorporating Rufus to enhance Lens Live by making it more interactive. Shoppers will see brief questions and overviews of products under the image carousel, offering quick insights into a product's key features. This allows users to research and shop simultaneously, preventing the need to navigate through detailed product pages.

This launch represents Amazon's continued investment in AI. Recently, the company has introduced Rufus, enhanced product feedback, apparel fit tools, AI-created audio synopses, and other features. Lens Live takes advantage of a common practice where consumers check Amazon for better prices while in stores.
This function uses Amazon SageMaker for extensive machine learning, operating on Amazon OpenSearch which is managed by AWS.
