An app aims to give Pixel 6 and later phones a refreshed, new-phone feel.

Google's inaugural seasonal theme pack, Wicked: For Good!, offers three styles: For Good, Glinda, and Elphaba. This pack allows users to customize their Pixel phones with content related to the upcoming Wicked: For Good movie, which arrives in theaters nationwide on November 21st. The first movie, Wicked: Part 1, came out around the same time last year. The Theme packs app is compatible with Pixel 6 and newer models and is available in the Google Play Store.

Although the Pixel themes app can be installed now, it will not function until the release of the next Pixel Feature Drop (Android 16 QPR2). After installing the Theme packs app on a Pixel 6 Pro, the app was not visible on the phone, despite appearing as installed in the Play Store app.

This feature is ideal for users who enjoy updating their Pixel's wallpaper and sounds. The one-tap application simplifies the process, eliminating the need for multiple individual adjustments.

Future theme availability remains to be seen. Google's choice of Wicked as an initial offering raises questions about potential promotional partnerships. The Theme packs app has reached over 100,000 installs.

While transforming a Pixel into an advertisement for Elphaba and Glinda may not appeal to everyone, this provides Pixel users with insight into the app's current state. As of now, there are no immediate changes to observe, even after downloading the app.
