Android phone makers continue to emulate Apple's "Liquid Glass" design, despite some negative reactions.

Another Android brand has launched a software update that’s heavily inspired by Apple’s Liquid Glass design.
The updated icons, which Realme calls Ice Cube Icons, are a key visual change. The company states that their subtle reflections mimic how light interacts with glass. The update also includes a Misty Glass Control Center and a Breathing Dock.
Users gain more customization options via Flux Theme 2.0, which offers a panoramic view for the Always On Display. Users can set a Live Photo or video as wallpaper and enhance it using AI-generated depth of field effects.
The update brings AI features like AI Notify Brief, which reduces notifications by grouping them into morning and evening summaries. AI Framing Master offers guidance on photo composition, and the AI Gaming Coach helps users improve their gaming abilities.
Realme is among companies like Vivo and Samsung drawing inspiration from Apple’s Liquid Glass design. Vivo's upcoming OriginOS 6 will replace FunTouch OS with a redesigned look. While visually similar to Apple’s iOS, Vivo claims flowing water inspired it.
Samsung’s One UI 8.5, expected with the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026, will likely include Apple-inspired design elements. Early software leaks showed interface elements resembling iOS. Apple users have expressed dissatisfaction with Apple’s design.
Realme UI 7.0 will debut with the Realme GT8 Pro, with an Open Beta available for older devices.
Android manufacturers repeatedly show Apple's influence in the smartphone market. Despite widespread disagreement with some of Apple's choices, other companies quickly emulate them. This trend, while disappointing, is not unexpected.
