Apple has made some under-the-hood improvements to the MacBook Pro that should make repairs easier.

The new M5 MacBook Pro may look identical on the outside, but inside, Apple’s engineers finally made a few tweaks that could make your next repair just a little less painful.
Apple's repair manual now advises users to disconnect the battery management system cable to cut off power before initiating device repairs. While considered standard procedure, this marks the first instance of the company including this instruction in its official documentation, possibly indicating a recognition of the increasing number of users undertaking self-repairs.
The alignment of the hinge mechanism has been improved, which should lead to greater long-term reliability.
Aesthetically, the MacBook Pro with the M5 chip is very similar to the previous M4 model. The primary enhancement this year is the M5 chip, delivering substantial performance improvements. Still, more significant upgrades are expected in next year's MacBook Pro models.
