Workout Buddy is a text-to-voice function intended to encourage and motivate users during workouts. This digital companion utilizes the same voice that is used by Apple Fitness+ trainers. Workout Buddy can assist users in staying committed to their fitness goals.
Live Translation uses AI to translate text into the user's preferred language. This feature enhances communication with people globally. Preferred chat backgrounds set on the iPhone will also appear on the Apple Watch. Smart Actions is another tool. When a friend asks for information via text, Smart Actions suggests the next step to take. For example, if a friend wants to know your location, Find My will appear, allowing you to share it with a single tap.
Call screening prompts callers to state their name and reason for calling. Users can then decide whether to answer or decline the call. Hold Assist, from the iPhone, is also available with watchOS 26. While on hold, the Apple Watch monitors the call and alerts the user when a live agent begins speaking. This allows users to focus on other tasks while waiting.
Apple has enhanced the prediction algorithm for Smart Stack to provide relevant and immediate suggestions. Users will receive a notification when a new suggestion is available. Calls, timers, and notifications can be dismissed by rotating the wrist. Additionally, the Notes app is now on the Apple Watch, and ambient noise will automatically adjust the Apple Watch volume.
watchOS 26 includes new watch faces, such as Flow, which incorporates Liquid Glass numerals and a colorful, moving sphere. The new Waypoint watch face, exclusive to the Apple Watch Ultra, features a live compass, satellite connectivity options, and Night Mode.
