AirDrop on iOS 26.2 may get a small update with a big positive effect.
Android users have access to Quick Share, an AirDrop equivalent. Initially available on Samsung devices, it later integrated with Google’s Nearby Share and became a standard Android feature. It offers similar visibility settings to AirDrop and is compatible with some Windows PCs and Chromebooks via an application.
Minor Yet Welcome Change
While some are indifferent to unsolicited AirDrops, the ability to remain visible to all was missed. The feature is frequently used with devices not in contacts, necessitating repeated visibility adjustments for file transfers. Although a once-monthly adjustment is not critical, it is still a valued feature.
