Apple's development of a foldable iPhone has encountered an unexpected production issue.

A new report from Ming-Chi Kuo suggests Apple’s first foldable iPhone could cost less to make than expected.
According to Kuo, hinge production will likely cost $70 to $80 per unit. This is significantly less than current market prices, which range from $100 to over $120.
A supplier collaboration has purportedly secured approximately 65% of the hinge orders from Apple. Amphenol is expected to produce the remaining hinges.
The first foldable iPhone is currently anticipated to debut in late 2026.
It is uncertain if the reduced hinge cost will affect the foldable iPhone's price. Apple considers various factors when pricing its products. The foldable iPhone is currently rumored to cost between $2,000 and $2,500.
The public awaits more details about Apple's first foldable iPhone.
