Apple's new M5 iPad Pro has internal upgrades despite a similar appearance.

The new iPad Pro is way more powerful with Apple’s M5 chip — bringing serious AI and desktop-class performance to your lap.
The new iPad Pro featuring the M5 chip is available for pre-order, with in-store availability beginning Wednesday, October 22. The 11-inch model has a starting price of $999, while the 13-inch model starts at $1,299. Customers can choose between Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + Cellular models, with the latter being the more expensive option.
As a high-end tablet, the iPad Pro M5's primary competitor is the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, released in September. The Tab S11 Ultra features a 14.6-inch AMOLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, and options for either 12 or 16GB of RAM.
This year's iPad Pro maintains a similar slim and lightweight design to its predecessor. The main improvement is the M5 processor, which Apple claims offers a significant speed increase over the M4. The new processor makes this iPad Pro a worthwhile upgrade, especially for users of older iPad models. However, those with the M4 iPad Pro may not find the upgrade necessary.
