CAPCOM Finally Fixes Dragon’s Dogma 2 Biggest Flaw, As Patch 3.2 Brings Significant Performance Improvements On PC and Consoles - Wccftech

However, the performance issues have become a thing of the past on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S with the new Patch 3.2 released today as it brings significant performance improvement, among other welcome improvements. Other user reports on the series' subreddit also confirm how the performance improvements also extend to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. Besides introducing performance improvements on all platforms, the Dragon's Dogma 2 latest patch also introduces plenty of gameplay improvements.
Dragon's Dogma 2 was a solid action role-playing game when it released back in 2024, but the thing that disappointed every fan of the series right from release was the game's bad performance on all platforms which made it hard to enjoy, no matter the system. However, the performance issues have become a thing of the past on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S with the new Patch 3.2 released today as it brings significant performance improvement, among other welcome improvements.
Although the official Patch 3.2 notes don't mention any performance improvement, the new patch still packs significant optimization improvements on all formats, as suggested by the changed minimum PC system requirements. As shown in a new comparison video put together by Game Tester, on a system powered by a Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU, RTX 5070 Ti GPU and 32 GB DDR5 6000 MHz CL30 RAM, at 1440p resolution, max settings, max ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS in Quality Mode with Preset K, the game went from running in the upper 80s, 90s FPS range to a 120+ range in the city of Vernworth, which has always been the area where the game struggled to run well the most due to the massive number of NPCs which proved to be taxing on any CPU.
Similarly, the game now seems to be in a very playable state on Steam Deck. As shown in a video shared by NotAGameAddict, at 720p resolution and with AMD FSR 3 in Performance mode, the game hits 30 FPS and higher in Vernworth, which is impressive considering the game's performance in earlier versions.
Other user reports on the series' subreddit also confirm how the performance improvements also extend to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. With the game soon launching on Nintendo Switch 2, performance improvements across the board were sort of expected, but still, it's great to know that both the RE Engine-powered games that suffered significant performance issues (Dragon's Dogma 2 and Monster Hunter Wilds) have now been fixed.
Besides introducing performance improvements on all platforms, the Dragon's Dogma 2 latest patch also introduces plenty of gameplay improvements. Chief among them, in my opinion, is the expansion of assignable weapon skills from four to six which is going to make the game feel much more fun to play, and it will benefit the Warfarer vocation greatly, whose customization freedom suffered terribly for the limited skill slots available.
With all these additions and the DD2gether co-op mod, there's no better time than now to get back into Dragon's Dogma 2 ahead of the Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion, which our own Alessio Palumbo tried during gamescom 2026. It will launch on October 9 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
