Chrome will soon automatically block excessive notification requests.

Chrome will soon automatically revoks notification permission from websites you don't visit often.
Google's Chrome browser will now alert users when it automatically unsubscribes them from website notifications for sites they rarely visit. This is part of Google's Safety Check, which also revokes location and camera permissions from infrequently visited sites. Users can reinstate permissions in Settings > Safety Check by tapping "View sites" and then "Restore," or by revisiting the website and agreeing to receive notifications.
During testing, Google observed a "significant reduction in notification overload with only a minimal change in total notification clicks." Their data suggests that websites sending fewer notifications tend to have increased user engagement. Google notes that "less than 1% of all [web] notifications receive any interactions from users."
To access the Safety Check feature, open Chrome on Android, tap the profile icon, and go to Settings > Safety check. A message will appear stating, "Chrome automatically removes permissions from sites that abuse notifications or that you haven't visited recently." Safety Check was introduced last year to help Android users avoid harmful notifications.
These notifications can sometimes be part of scams. Google analyzes them for signs of fraudulent activity, based on Google's own research.
To manage your permissions, follow these steps:
Open Chrome's Settings.
Go to Privacy and security.
Select Site Settings.
Go to Permissions and then Notifications.
Find the Safety Check page to view unsubscribed sites and restore permissions if desired.
Google believes that users are less likely to want notifications from websites they do not visit regularly, which helps to reduce the high number of notifications that smartphone users receive. This feature does not apply to notifications from installed web apps (PWAs).
The new feature may be available as early as next week, or it could arrive with the next Android feature update.
