Garmin's new Venu 4 smartwatch offers competition to the Apple Watch Series 11, though its price point may be a factor.

Garmin came incredibly close to pulling off the impossible this week, unveiling a device that's better than the Apple Watch Series 11... but way too pricey.
The tech world is focused on Apple, particularly its Watch Series 11, Watch Ultra 3, and Watch SE 3, revealed recently.
Garmin unveiled its Fenix 8 Pro series and the Venu 4 model around the same time, seemingly to rival Apple's launch. This strategy, although risky, almost succeeded.
To overshadow Apple, Garmin needed to release a superior product to the Series 11 or Apple Watch Ultra 3 and generate buzz.
The Garmin Venu 4 surpasses the Apple Watch Series 11 in several areas, yet it has not garnered as much attention ahead of its September 22 release.
The Venu 4 boasts:
Built-in LED flashlight
Up to 12 days of battery life
Health status tracking
Lifestyle logging
Sleep alignment
Fitness Coach
These features are absent or limited in the latest Apple Watches. While the Series 11 offers advantages like hypertension notifications and optional cellular connectivity, the Venu 4's battery life is notable.
An Apple Watch requires frequent charging, whereas the Garmin Venu 4 promises up to four days with the always-on display enabled.
The Venu 4's LED flashlight is another advantage, and its health and fitness tracking enhances Garmin's existing strengths.
The Garmin Venu 4 appears more convenient and versatile than the Apple Watch Series 11, with broader compatibility.
However, the Venu 4 is priced at $549.99, which is more expensive than the Apple Watch Series 11 and also more than the Venu 3's original price.
The higher price may limit sales, especially with competitors like Samsung's Galaxy Watch 8 being more affordable.
Garmin's products are not frequently discounted, so a price drop may not occur soon.
The price may negatively affect the Venu 4's potential, despite its strengths compared to the Apple Watch Series 11 or the Galaxy Watch 8.
