Gboard for Android may soon let users remove two common punctuation marks.

Google updates Gboard for Android allowing users to erase the period or comma keys.
The comma and period keys can now be displayed or hidden on the keyboard for some languages.
Both of these settings are on by default. Disabling them will remove the comma and/or period from the standard keyboard layout. With both turned off, the "?123" button and the enter key will be the only remaining keys on the bottom row, which creates a larger space bar.
Removing the period key is not a major issue because double-tapping the space bar adds a period. However, if the comma key is removed, there is no alternative way to type a comma.
Users have the following options:
The emoji key can also be enabled or disabled.
The comma and period keys are enabled by default, which is ideal. Users who need to type a comma will not have to search the keyboard to find it.
The updated settings menu in Gboard is available in both the stable and beta versions of the Android app. The comma key and period key settings are located on a Pixel 6 Pro running Android 16 QPR2 Beta 3.1 with Gboard version 16.2.4.815623744 beta.
In other news, "Iconic Phones: Revolution at Your Fingertips," a coffee table book about the technological revolution of the 21st century, will be released in a few months.
