Google Calculator has a new Material 3 redesign.

Check out the changes to version 9 of the Google Calculator app.
Google apps have been undergoing Material 3 Expressive redesigns recently, contributing to Android 16's updated appearance. The Calculator app, which had a Material Design update in 2018, is now receiving its Material 3 Expressive makeover in version 9.0.
The redesign includes adjustments to the number buttons, making them closer to the edges. The top row, featuring functions like square root, pi, power, and factorial, now uses small up and down arrows to toggle the functions' visibility.
The Material 3 Expressive redesign introduces enclosed buttons for Scientific Calculator operations like radian (RAD), sin (Sine), cos (Cosine), tan (Tangent), INV (Inverse), ln (natural logarithm), and e (Euler's number, approximately 2.718281828...). The overflow menu in the upper right corner maintains its previous menu options, enhanced with icons.
The redesigned calculator display features taller and narrower numbers. Version 9 replaces the Google Sans font used in the 2018 Material Design update. The Google Calculator app is not pre-installed on all Android phones, but can be added via a provided link.
The Google Calculator version on a Pixel 6 Pro is 8.7. The Calculator app is a system app on Pixel phones and cannot be removed. It comes pre-installed on these devices.
