Google Fi users are now receiving the same software updates that Pixel owners have had for years.

Regular Feature Reveals are here, and the first wave brings smarter connections, clearer calls, and a real reason to stay or switch.
Google Fi, which utilizes T-Mobile's 5G network, sometimes experiences reduced signal strength indoors. Pixel users can use Wi-Fi Auto Connect+ to address this issue, which automatically connects to premium Wi-Fi, delivering connections that are twice as dependable as cellular.
Google is broadening this capability to millions of new locations, such as major airports (LAX, ORD, and JFK), shopping centers, and retail locations. It activates automatically, has no additional cost, and is indicated by a W+ icon in the status bar.
The service also encrypts connections on premium Wi-Fi to ensure private and secure browsing.
Another enhancement is AI-driven noise reduction. Google Fi will employ Google AI to reduce distracting background noises like traffic, construction, or wind.
The AI-improved audio, which will be available in the coming weeks, filters out distractions and improves voice clarity for both parties, even when speaking with someone using an older phone or landline. It functions automatically, but users can disable it.
Google Fi's functionality extends beyond phones, enabling connectivity on smartwatches, tablets, and laptops at no additional charge. Soon, web calls and messages will be upgraded, allowing users to text, call, and check voicemails from computers or tablets, even without a nearby phone.
The updated web interface will offer full RCS support, enabling the transmission of high-resolution photos and videos, similar to phone functionality, but directly from a browser.
In addition, Google Fi's in-app support will receive an AI upgrade. AI-driven summaries will simplify charges, identify changes from the previous month, and illustrate how plan adjustments will impact future bills, providing quick answers without contacting customer support.
To celebrate these enhancements, Google Fi is offering a limited-time promotion for new subscribers. Those who bring their own devices and subscribe to either the Unlimited Essentials or Unlimited Standard Plan will receive a 50% discount for 15 months.
These consistent updates are beneficial for Google Fi subscribers. Regular Feature Reveals are similar to Pixel Feature Drops and offer increased clarity on Google Fi updates.
These features, especially noise reduction, are useful.
Google should clarify the feature's privacy aspects soon. Similar to Google Meet's AI noise cancellation, the system should only temporarily process audio for cleanup, without long-term storage, and rely on cloud-based processing.
