Google is expanding Gemini's presence in smart homes with new device integrations.

New Nest cameras, Google Home Speaker, and budget Walmart devices all feature deep Gemini AI integration.
Google has revealed its latest Home and Nest devices, all of which feature Gemini integration. The new gadgets, including cameras and speakers, are designed to offer AI-enhanced experiences beyond standard smart alerts and voice commands. Google is also partnering with Walmart to offer a wider selection of designs and price options.
The new wired devices include the Nest Cam Indoor (3rd gen), Nest Cam Outdoor (2nd gen), and Nest Doorbell (3rd gen). These devices use data to work with Gemini, providing more accurate alerts and search capabilities.
All three devices record in 2K HDR with a wide field of view. The cameras have a 152-degree diagonal view, while the Doorbell has a 166-degree diagonal view with a 1:1 aspect ratio for better package and visitor visibility.
Low-light performance is improved with a new sensor and wider aperture, increasing light sensitivity by 120%. Infrared night vision is included for dark conditions.
Google Home Premium subscribers get extra AI features:
Detailed alerts with zoomed previews, such as "dog jumps out of playpen."
Voice-activated search, like "What happened to the vase in the living room?"
AI-generated highlight reels of recorded footage.
Even without a subscription, users still benefit from:
Zoom and crop tools to monitor specific areas.
Intelligent alerts for people, vehicles, animals, and packages.
Expanded event history with six hours of 10-second video previews.
The outdoor cam and doorbell are IP56-rated for protection against weather. Color options vary by model and include Snow, Hazel, Berry, and Linen.

Nest Cam Outdoor: $149.99
Nest Doorbell: $179.99

Google is collaborating with Walmart to introduce the onn brand to the smart home market. The onn Indoor Camera Wired ($22.96) and onn Video Doorbell Wired ($49.86) will be available October 1 at Walmart stores and online.
These affordable devices connect to the Google Home app, offering 1080p live video and smart alerts. With a Google Home Premium subscription, they offer Gemini-powered features alongside Nest devices, such as smart event history and alerts at a lower cost.
Walmart's onn lineup makes it more affordable to create a smart home setup.
The new Google Home Speaker is designed as a Gemini hub for living rooms.
It features a light ring that indicates when Gemini is active. The speaker delivers 360° sound.
Users can pair two Google Home Speakers with a Google TV Streamer for surround sound. Multi-room audio, stereo pairing, and grouping with Nest speakers are also supported.
The speaker has a compact design and comes in colors like Porcelain, Hazel, Jade, and Berry. It also includes a physical mic mute switch.
The Google Home Speaker will launch in Spring 2026 for $99 across the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
Google is focusing on building its home ecosystem around Gemini. Partnering with Walmart's onn brand extends AI access to budget-conscious consumers.
By offering Gemini through various devices, Google aims to encourage investment in its ecosystem, potentially leading users to upgrade to Nest products.
The effectiveness of these devices will be determined upon their release.
