Google is releasing a lanyard for the Pixel, similar to the crossbody strap expected for the iPhone 17.

Apparently, phone straps are having a moment, and Google doesn’t want to miss it.
Many straps use a universal connection method that works with different cases or devices. The exception is the Pixel Fold, as noted by Google on the strap's product page, likely due to the way cases attach to foldable phones.
Google's pricing differs greatly from Apple's.
Apple's Crossbody Strap is priced at $59. It features magnets for easy length adjustments and an attractive design. However, it requires a compatible case or bumper made by Apple for the iPhone 17 or iPhone Air.
Google's strap offers broader compatibility at a lower cost. The Rope Wristlet is priced at $7 and is available in purple/blue, green/yellow, and black/grey.
Unlike Apple's option, the wrist strap's color options are more standard and do not coordinate with the Pixel 10 colors. The affordable price allows consumers to purchase all color variations.
I appreciate Google's wrist strap for its universal compatibility. While I am interested in trying Apple's Crossbody Strap, I find myself using wrist straps more frequently, both indoors and outdoors. I am also more comfortable with the $7 price point, compared to the higher cost of Apple's strap and the required case. Google has done a good job.
