Google may have inadvertently disclosed upcoming apps for Samsung's Galaxy XR headset.

Samsung may want to keep some secrets about the Galaxy XR, but even Google is sharing information before its premiere.
XR apps are now available in the Play Store, as shown in an image shared on Reddit by Important-Goal-8388.
The software includes titles like Asteroid, Vacation Simulator, Naver CHZZK XR, and NFL Pro Era. These apps are organized within the Play Store in a distinct area that highlights live sports applications and immersive XR experiences.
Virtual Desktop, a well-known application that lets users wirelessly connect to their computers for tasks like viewing movies or playing PCVR games, has also been launched on Google Play. Its presence suggests that Android XR will offer support for more sophisticated applications from the beginning. Android XR will be available in the coming days.
Samsung will unveil its initial Android XR device on October 21 at 10 PM ET. The company announced its "Worlds Wide Open" Virtual Galaxy Event earlier this week, although the device's complete design was leaked earlier in the month.
The device, which will likely be called Galaxy XR, is expected to have the two-year-old Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset and high-resolution micro-OLED panels. It will compete directly with the Apple Vision Pro, which recently received an upgrade with the M5 chipset. The Apple headset has a starting price of $3,499 and is rather heavy, which could give Samsung an advantage.
While the Apple Vision Pro will finally have a real competitor, mixed reality headsets remain niche devices with limited applications, and their high cost prevents them from becoming mainstream. While the Samsung device is exciting, a Galaxy XR purchase is unlikely.
