Google Messages is expected to receive three new updates soon.

A deep dive into the latest beta version of Google Messages revealed a trio of changes being prepped by Google.
When a user receives a media file in Google Messages and saves it, a confirmation notification appears. Google is developing a feature to allow users to immediately open saved media in another app. This provides a separate way to view the file and confirms that the file was successfully saved.
Another update concerns the location sharing feature. Currently, tapping the "+" button in the app displays a "Location" button, enabling users to share their current location. To clarify its function, the button will be renamed "One-Time Location" in a future update, indicating it shares the user's location only once. Despite this change, the app's internal code refers to "enable_live_location_sharing_extension," suggesting potential future enhancements to the location sharing capabilities.
Additionally, Google is emphasizing Gemini AI's integration by increasing the size of the Gemini floating action button (FAB) to match the "chat" button, located on the right side of the display. Gemini is designed to provide comprehensive answers and manage system tasks like setting alarms.
For users who do not have Google Messages installed, it can be downloaded from the Play Store.
