Google Photos is adding new facial editing features.

Eyes, lips, teeth, and eyebrows can all be adjusted individually – and yes, it works on group photos too.

The new tool also functions with group shots. A highlight is that Google Photos can recognize each face separately, enabling individual edits instead of applying the same adjustments to everyone. Currently, the feature can handle up to six faces in one image.
The tool is not yet available, and Google has not announced its release date. However, its advanced state suggests a near-term launch.
This provides Google Photos with an advantage over iOS and Samsung.
Upon release, Google Photos will have an increased advantage over other built-in editors. While Samsung provides some facial effects, neither Apple’s Photos app nor Samsung’s Gallery app offer comparable detailed editing options.
The exact functionality remains unknown, but it seems the entire suite is AI-driven.

Although many will appreciate it, it isn’t for everyone.
Many users will find this upgrade very helpful, but such tools are not universally appealing. Edited photos often lose their natural look, and the prevalence of AI on social platforms is not for everyone.
Overall, it is a valuable addition to Google Photos that many users will likely adopt once it becomes officially available.
