Google Photos' year-end recap is now shareable.

It has a few extras this year that makes it before than the last iteration.
Google Photos is releasing its annual "Recap" feature this week, offering a detailed summary of the past year.
The feature includes standard statistics such as top people and total photo counts, as well as a new selfie counter. In the U.S., users with enabled Gemini features will see AI-identified hobbies and highlights. A key improvement is the added control, allowing users to hide specific dates, people, or pets and regenerate the timeline.
The update also provides:
* **CapCut Integration:** Direct export to CapCut with exclusive templates.
* **Social Sharing:** A carousel for creating short videos and collages optimized for social media.
* **Direct Access:** Easy sharing to WhatsApp Status and a pinned recap in the Collections tab throughout December.
While Apple Photos offers curated "Memories" with Apple Music integration, sharing outside the Apple ecosystem can be difficult. Google's partnership with CapCut, a video editing platform, suggests that its default slideshows are insufficient for today's social media trends. This integration aims to transform the Google Photos recap into a creative tool for shareable content.
The ability to exclude unwanted items and the CapCut integration are notable improvements. Rather than being restricted to Google’s artistic choices, users can now personalize their recaps.
