Google's first AI-generated ad demonstrates how AI can be used to avoid dangerous situations.

A toylike turkey plans its escape from the dangers of Thanksgiving in Google’s latest AI ad.
The video does not have a label disclosing that it was produced using Veo 3 or any other AI platform. Robert Wong, the co-founder and VP of Google’s internal marketing division, Creative Lab, stated that consumers are indifferent to whether AI was involved in the creation of an advertisement.
Google Creative Lab developed the concept for the advertisement before choosing to use AI to produce it. The company has previously employed AI to develop ad concepts featuring people, but it has not yet released an advertisement with AI-generated humans. The company has no intention of producing all of its advertisements using AI.
Love it or hate it, we will likely see more advertisements created with AI, which may result in fewer job opportunities for human artists. However, it’s unlikely Google would have produced the same video if it had to pay for the traditional methods of creating such an advertisement.
I concur with Robert Wong that the majority of viewers will be unconcerned if an advertisement is created using AI. They are primarily concerned with the advertisement being entertaining and avoiding an unnatural appearance. Creating a cartoon-like turkey is a dependable method to avoid the uncanny valley, even if it brings up ethical questions.
