Google Weather has been redesigned and is now directly integrated into search results.

While Pixel phones have their own Play Store app, the Google Weather app is being redesigned.
To access the Google Weather application featuring "Froggy", open the Google app on your Android device. A carousel is located beneath the AI Mode bar, with a rectangle displaying local weather. Tapping it reveals a Weather box with current conditions and data for the coming hours. Access a vertical popup menu by tapping the three dots on the right side, then select "Add to homescreen". This will create a widget, allowing placement on any available homescreen area.
While both the Weather app and Google Weather app (with Froggy) can coexist on a Pixel phone, their icons differ. The Weather app, exclusive to Pixel, shows a yellow sun with a small cloud against a blue backdrop. The Google Weather app, available on all Android phones, uses a similar sun and cloud design, but smaller, and incorporates the Google "G" logo within a circle, set against a white background.
The two apps present weather data differently. The Google Weather app displays Froggy in a strip beneath hourly temperature forecasts, followed by 10-day forecasts and additional weather data. Tapping the downward arrow reveals hourly forecasts for precipitation, wind, and humidity. The Air quality section shows a color-coded bar representing the current reading.
Recently, some Android users tapping the Google Weather app icon have encountered a message stating "The weather page has moved. Your homescreen shortcut now leads to Google Search," suggesting the app's discontinuation. The Pixel-only Weather app remains unaffected. This aligns with Google's decision to halt new installations of the Google Weather app for Wear OS, encouraging new wearable users to utilize the default weather application.
The Google Weather app no longer offers a full-page experience, appearing within search results. For Pixel users, installing the Weather app is recommended.
Alternative weather applications available on the Google Play Store include:
The Weather Channel (iOS, Android)
AccuWeather (iOS, Android)
1Weather (iOS, Android)
Weather & Radar (iOS, Android)
Depending on location, local television stations may offer weather-specific applications. For instance, in Salem, Massachusetts, Boston stations provide weather apps due to potentially severe winter conditions. Similarly, in South Florida, hurricane concerns have led to local apps on both the Play Store and App Store.
