Having Duskbloods connectivity issues? FromSoftware says sit closer to your router or use an ethernet cable - Eurogamer

UPDATE: Sitting near the router did not appear to help.

UPDATE 2PM BST: FormSoftware has closed today's The Duskbloods network test early due to connectivity issues.

In a statement made on the official FromSoftware X account, the company announced the news and said it would share future testing schedules soon.

"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to those who were waiting for the first The Duskbloods network test due to game server issues," the statement read. "We regret to inform you that today's session is now closed. We will continue to work on improving the servers and will announce future schedules at a later date."

The testing period was meant to last until around 5pm BST, approximately three hours from now. There are still testing periods scheduled throughout the weekend into Monday, so here's hoping the server issue gets fixed soon.

Hey, this is a network test after all - isn't dealing with these problems part of what it's all about?

ORIGINAL STORY 12PM BST: The Duskbloods closed network test has begun, offering players an early peek at FromSoftware's upcoming PvPvE action game ahead of launch later this year. And with reports of connectivity issues already coming in, FromSoftware has offered some somewhat old-fashioned advice for dealing with it.

On social media, testers report finding themselves stuck on the title screen, unable to actually enter a match. These players appear to be getting stuck while attempting to connect to The Duskbloods servers, suggesting a wider issue.

Here's where FromSoftware stepped in with an official post on the game's X account, which offered the following advice: "If using a wireless internet connection while playing The Duskbloods Closed Network Test, you may experience instability depending on your network environment. In this case, please try connecting while near your router/modem, or switching to a wired connection."

If that doesn't work, an official post on The Duskbloods website urged players to refer to the Nintendo Support website. This page is a basic FAQ about online services on Switch 2.

This - as you have likely assumed doesn't seem to have solved the problem for those affected by server connectivity issues. Still, there's plenty of time left in the game's testing period, which runs until Monday. Here's hoping this problem is resolved soon, and players get to check out the game firsthand. With, or without, sitting next to their router.
