Instagram Stories now have new styling options powered by Meta AI.

Meta AI lets users completely reimagine photos and videos with easy text prompts and preset effects.
## Update Your Instagram Stories with AI
Meta AI introduces new tools for Instagram Stories, allowing users to modify their images and videos. These tools can remove unwanted objects, add elements such as crowns or sunsets, and apply different styles. The feature is also compatible with Add Yours stickers, so friends can apply the same edits.
The "Restyle" menu is located at the top of Instagram Stories, accessible via the paintbrush icon. Within the menu, users can select "add," "remove," or "change," and then enter a text prompt describing the desired modification. Meta suggests prompts such as changing hair color, including props, or altering backgrounds.
Preset effects are available for quick edits, including changing outfits, adding sunglasses, or applying a watercolor effect. For videos, users can add snow or flames using preset options. After editing, users can tap "Done" and share their story.
Meta recommends considering the following elements when creating prompts:
* Subject: "Add a crown on the girl’s head."
* Lighting & mood: "Add dramatic lighting" or "light from a single paparazzi flash."
* Composition: "Place in the bottom left corner" or "in the background."
* Style: "Make photorealistic" or "film noir style."
* Location: "In Paris" or "outer space."
Add Yours stickers allow others to replicate edits or create trends. Users can swipe up on a restyled image and add the sticker before posting. Other users can then select their own image and apply the same changes.
Previously, AI edits were only accessible through the Instagram chatbot. Now, the direct integration of text prompts into Stories makes the tools more user-friendly and accessible.
Using Meta AI on Instagram requires agreement to Meta’s AI Terms of Service, which permits the platform to analyze user content.
While these AI features may seem gimmicky to some, they provide accessible options for casual users. Meta's tools may not be perfect or as complex as other AI models, but they are sufficient for everyday use.
