Motorola is likely releasing an Edge 70 Ultra phone, but its performance speed might be disappointing.

This looks like the textbook definition of a good news/bad news scenario for Motorola fans.
If you noticed something missing from this year's Edge 60 series, a recent rumor from Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) on X might be of interest.
The answer to whether the next model will use a top-tier processor is complicated. To understand, it's important to know about Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8-series lineup.
Qualcomm released two variations of last year's Snapdragon 8 Elite, potentially creating confusion for Android enthusiasts.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while the Motorola "Urus," likely marketed as the Edge 70 Ultra, may use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.
These processor names are similar, and their specifications aren't significantly different. The Elite version has higher CPU clock speeds and a superior 5G modem, but the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 should still offer ample power for most users.
The Motorola Edge 70 Ultra might not be as fast as Samsung's upcoming flagship. However, with the right price, display, camera, and battery, it could compete with other top Android phones in 2026.
It's uncertain whether a foldable Razr 70 Ultra with Qualcomm's best processor is planned, as suggested by Evan Blass.
This isn't an official leak, so it should be viewed cautiously. However, the idea is plausible, considering the Razr 60 Ultra foldable features a Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Last year's Edge 50 Ultra used a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which was less powerful than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in devices like the Galaxy S24 series.
Motorola didn't release an Edge 60 Ultra, so the Edge 70 Ultra's use of a standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 isn't too surprising.
Hopefully, this is true, as the brand has received positive attention.
While the Edge 70 looks impressive, its price is a factor. The Edge 70 Ultra sounds promising for those who value affordability over extreme power.
To improve sales and recognition, Motorola needs to focus on the US market. Confirmation that the Edge 70 Ultra is coming to the US would be exciting. Until then, more leaks are needed.
