Pixel phones have been approved for use by the US Department of Defense.

Google has announced that several Pixel phones have been added to the Department of Defense Information Network Approved Products List. This list contains products that U.S. federal agencies can purchase after government review. Google calls this "a significant milestone" that highlights their dedication to providing federal agencies with secure technology.

In a recent blog post, Google emphasized the importance of this achievement. According to the company, inclusion on the DoDIN APL establishes trust and allows government agencies to confidently acquire Google Pixel phones, knowing they meet high security standards.

Google states that Pixel phones are "mission-ready" and cites a third-party report that calls the Pixel 9 series "the highest rated for security features empowering government employees to securely connect and collaborate from virtually anywhere." Google notes that 5G's high speed, low latency, and increased mobility provide the military with important capabilities for secure conversations.

The Pixel series also features integrated security within the Google ecosystem. The company says that the military will utilize Google products, including Pixel phones, for "on-site data capture and secure transmission, and to digitize and standardize data collection."

One federal agency responsible for procuring energy resources for the military sought to improve its fuel inspection and auditing capabilities across 500 global locations. Currently, this process and data archiving are handled manually, causing issues with real-time data access. Now, the military will use Google cloud services and Pixel phones to digitize the data, capture it on-site, and transmit it securely.

Google has launched a website called "Google Pixel for Public Sector." The site states, "Equipped with trusted Google technology and built-in threat protection, Pixel empowers public sector employees to securely connect and collaborate from virtually anywhere—even the most challenging environments."

AI features highlighted on the website include Gemini, Summarize, Live Translate, and Circle to Search. The Pixel 9 line includes security features such as the Tensor G4 security core and the Titan M2 security chip. The devices offer at least 7 years of updates and include fingerprint and face unlock.
