To get Pumpkin Candy in Pokopia, you need to use Camouflage to disguise yourself as a Pokémon's favourite item. When said Pokémon notices you, it's time to drop the disguise and give them a surprise! You'll get between one to three Pumpkin Candy for every Pokémon you trick.
Make sure you wait until the Pokémon has a speech bubble above their head, which says 'A [Item Name]'. This is the sign that they've noticed you, so perform the trick quickly! It may take a while for them to notice you and, if it feels like it's taking too long, best to move on to a different target.
If you're having trouble selecting the correct item, then take a look at the base items you've used to create the Pokémon's habitat. A Picnic Basket, for example, is perfect for tricking Pikachu as it's part of this Pokémon's required habitat. You can also use items you've placed in their habitat to make them happy, much like how I tricked Vaporeon by disguising myself as a Bathtub.
When it comes to getting into the Pokémon's eyeline, in my experience you can just move into their line of sight without any problems. It may lower the amount of Pumpkin Candy you earn, but it's better than nothing. Just remember to wait for their speech bubble to appear before you jump out of them! It may also take longer for Pokémon to notice you if their doing any activity like eating or talking to another Mon.
Finally, it's worth noting you can't simply trick the same Pokémon over and over again as there's a hidden reset timer. Due to this, it's best to visit as many different Pokémon as possible to surprise them.
The Give Me Something Good To Eat habitat is Pumpkaboo's habitat in Pokopia. To make it, you need:
These items can be purchased using Pumpkin Candy at Pumpkaboo's shop inside any of the rebuilt Pokémon Center's from the base game when the Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises event is running. You need five Pumpkin Candy in total to purchase these items to add this habitat to your Habitat Dex.
All of the Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises items can be purchased from Pumpkaboo's shop inside any of the rebuilt Pokémon Centers in the base game. Each one costs a specific amount of Pumpkin Candy and here's a full list of items you can purchase. If you purchase every item, which costs 20 Pumpkin Candy in total, you'll unlock the Trick or Treat frame for photos.
The Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises event runs from 17th October to 1st November. (You can always time travel to it if real life currently sits outside of this time.) To access this event, you need to have rebuilt at least Pokémon Center and learnt Camouflage from Zorua at Bleak Beach.
This event is not accessible in Bubbly Basin or the Cloud Islands.
When the event is running, the game will begin with a notification saying 'A Pokémon is the talk of the town'. If you're at Bubbly Basin, then you'll see a notification prompting you to visit Withered Wasteland. After reading this message, head to the Pokémon Center and you'll find Pumpkaboo nearby. After a short chat, Pumpkaboo will task you with collecting Pumpkin Candy before opening its shop in the Pokémon Center.
Hope you enjoy this spooky Pokopia event! If you're still hunting down Pokémon, then make sure you take a look at the Pokédex, Habitat Dex and Bubbly Basin Pokédex.
