Rumored camera specs for the Galaxy S26 Pro and Ultra are now considered highly likely.

If you've been disappointed by some of the latest rumors regarding Samsung's Galaxy S26 series cameras, the newest report on the matter is unlikely to do much to cheer you up.
Since rumors of a Galaxy S26 family rebranding appeared, the question of possible changes has been circulating. Despite a reliable source suggesting the S26 Pro name may not indicate significant differences, anticipation remained for notable upgrades to the standard Galaxy S25 successor.
However, recent information casts doubt on camera improvements. Supply chain sources suggest the Galaxy S26 Pro will feature a triple rear camera system: a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It will also likely have a 12MP front camera.
These specifications appear identical to the Galaxy S25. Similarly, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to retain its predecessor's 200 + 50 + 50 + 10MP quad rear camera setup and 12MP selfie camera.
The Galaxy S26 Edge might be the exception, potentially replacing the S25 Edge's 12MP ultra-wide lens with a 50MP one. While this is an upgrade, some hoped for a telephoto sensor addition, given the S26 Edge is expected to replace both the Edge and Plus models.
Instead, the S26 Edge will likely pair the 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 200MP primary lens and the same 12MP front camera.
Megapixel count isn't everything. Software optimization and new camera sensors can also improve photographic performance.
A Korean report indicates the Galaxy S26 Pro might replace the S25's 50MP Isocell GN3 sensor, which could justify the "Pro" branding.
The new sensor's name is unconfirmed, and a similar change for the Galaxy S26 Ultra is now unlikely. It is still too early to definitively say that the 2026 phone will lack camera upgrades compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The sequels should feel familiar, but promising rumors suggest potential unique features in the Galaxy S26 series.
Reportedly, the S26 Ultra will have more rounded corners, while the S26 Edge is expected to improve upon the S25 Edge's battery capacity. This leaves the S26 Pro as the most modest upgrade over its predecessor.
