Rumors are circulating about the upcoming iPhone Fold's potential specs and features.

Check out the latest rumors from Ming-Chi Kuo and others about the specs and features of the iPhone Fold.
JP Morgan issued an equity research report on Apple, discussing the expected iPhone Fold, a foldable device similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. The report indicates the internal display's front-facing camera will be under-display with 24MP resolution, exceeding current Android foldable cameras that range from 4MP to 8MP.
Reportedly, Apple has addressed the screen crease issue found in many foldables. UDN reports the iPhone Fold will be the first foldable without a crease on its internal display. Samsung will supply the display, with some credit given to Apple's internal components.
Sources suggest the unfolded internal screen will measure 7.8 inches, and the cover screen will be 5.5 inches. Touch ID will replace Face ID as the biometric authentication method. The iPhone Fold will feature four cameras: a hole-punch camera on the cover screen, the 24MP under-display front camera on the internal screen, and a dual-lens 48MP rear setup.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo anticipates the iPhone Fold will use high-density battery cells, with South Korean sources estimating a capacity of 5400 mAh to 5800 mAh. A Chinese leaker, Instant Digital, claims the battery will exceed 5000 mAh, potentially making it the largest battery in an iPhone, surpassing the iPhone 17 Pro Max's 5088 mAh battery.
While smaller than the vivo X Fold 5's 6000 mAh battery or the Honor Magic V5's 5820 mAh battery, the iPhone Fold's battery is expected to exceed the Galaxy Z Fold 7's 4400 mAh and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold's 4822 mAh. Setsuna Digital reports that Apple has not yet selected a battery supplier.
Kuo also noted the Touch ID sensor's side placement and the phone's thickness: 9mm–9.5mm when closed and 4.5mm–4.8mm when open, compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 7's 8.9mm (closed) and 4.2mm (open), and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold's 10.8mm (closed) and 5.2mm (open).
Mass production of the first iPhone Fold is slated for Q4 2026, with the second generation entering production in the latter half of 2027. Kuo projects shipments of 3 million to 5 million units in 2026, and 20 million units in 2027, including the second-generation model.
Fubon Research predicts a $2,399 price tag, while other estimates range from $2,000 to $2,500, positioning it as potentially the most expensive iPhone.
Apple has reportedly started building 100 iPhone Fold units for engineering verification and pre-production testing, featuring the final phone's functionality and a design close to the first foldable iPhone's final version.
