Rumors suggest the iPhone 17 Pro will have a new, unprecedented feature.

The iPhone 17 Pro was even deployed inside Fenway's Green Monster.
The Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox American League game from Fenway Park in Boston was broadcast using the iPhone 17 Pro. The game was broadcast on Apple TV+ as part of the Friday Night Baseball series. The Red Sox won the game 4-3, securing their first postseason appearance since 2021.
Prior to the game, Apple issued a press release detailing the iPhone 17 Pro's use during the broadcast.
According to Apple, the iPhone 17 Pro captured live footage of the game, including batting practice, player introductions, dugout views, and the fan experience. Apple says it marks the first time an iPhone has been used in a live professional sports broadcast workflow.
Apple also said that the iPhone 17 Pro provided high-quality video and allowed for new angles and better coverage due to its compact size.
iPhones were used in four locations inside Fenway Park, including the home dugout and inside the Green Monster, to capture various angles throughout the stadium. During the game, Apple displayed overlays to notify viewers when iPhone 17 Pro cameras were in use.
Apple stated that this innovation expands upon their ongoing MLB production enhancements, which include in-stadium drone shots, real-time probability graphics, umpire helmet and body cameras, mic’d-up players, and megalodon cameras.
The size and weight of the iPhone 17 Pro suggests that this game marks the beginning of a trend in which more professional sporting events will be broadcast using an iPhone Pro model.
