Samsung has expanded its portfolio of high-end audio brands.
Samsung’s subsidiary Harman has closed a deal that fortifies its position in the premium audio world.
Harman's acquisition of Sound United's well-known audio business will give it one of the most extensive audio collections in the market.

The Galaxy S26 will not include a Bowers & Wilkins speaker or headphones. Sound United will function independently within Harman's lifestyle division, allowing each audio brand to retain its identity.
Harman says the newly acquired brands will be able to use its resources to increase their capabilities and reach. Harman intends to leverage the knowledge and skills Sound United will bring, which is similar to Samsung's independent approach with Harman.
High-fidelity audio has already lost out to convenience.
It would be nice if Samsung improved the audio quality of its phones and explored mobile hi-fi, but it would be unnecessary. People are accustomed to listening to compressed audio via Bluetooth from streaming services. This is unlikely to change, and most people are unconcerned.
