Samsung may be considering bringing back the "Edge" display for a future Galaxy S26 phone, but it's unlikely to happen soon.
The Galaxy S26 family continues to be surrounded by uncertainty, with an ultra-thin model likely to happen after all, just at a later date than initially expected.
After reports that the S26 Edge was discontinued due to poor sales of its predecessor, the S26 Plus was rumored to reappear. Now, the ultra-thin S26 Edge may also be revived with design changes.
The internal codename for this year's Galaxy S25 Edge was reportedly "Slim." Samsung has been developing a new phone under the codename "More Slim" for months.
It is expected that this device will be released as the Galaxy S26 Edge. GalaxyClub reports that "More Slim" development began later than the rest of the S26 series.
Samsung may start next year by revealing the standard Galaxy S26 series with base, Plus, and Ultra models. The Edge variant might be released later.
The S26 series could follow the Galaxy S25 launch strategy, but it is unclear if the S26 Edge will be available in April, May, or June 2026. A January or February release is unlikely.
A strange design was leaked months ago, but if the original S26 Edge plan was scrapped, that design may also be cancelled.
The Galaxy S26 Edge is expected to be thinner than the S25 Edge. It is hoped that Samsung can reduce the profile to around 5.5mm without a large camera bump.
Assuming the Galaxy S26 and S26 Ultra images are accurate, only the S26 Plus and S26 Edge designs remain to be seen. Hopefully their designs will be similar to the S25 Plus and S25 Edge.
If Samsung releases the Galaxy S26 trio in February 2026 and the S26 Edge in May, it would be preferable to cancelling the S26 Plus.
The Galaxy S25 Plus is criticized for being less popular than the S25 and S25 Ultra. The same may happen to the Galaxy S26 Plus, because the S26 and S26 Ultra are expected to be popular.
While the S25 Edge was not a favorite, Samsung is commended for continuing its ultra-thin phones. The Galaxy S26 Edge might become popular, especially if it combines a battery with over 4,000mAh capacity and a profile of under 6mm.
