Samsung might release the One UI 8 update for Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 devices earlier than anticipated.

Believe it or not, there's a chance multiple Galaxy devices will score stable Android 16-based One UI 8 updates by the end of the month in multiple key territories.
After initially launching the stable One UI 8 update in South Korea for the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge models a few days prior, Samsung is preparing to extend the update to more regions and devices. While the broader release was anticipated to begin in October, recent indications suggest that software updates could commence by the end of this month in key global markets.
Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, S25 Edge, and S25 Ultra are slated for updates starting September 18; Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, S24 FE, and S24 Ultra from September 25; Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 also from September 25; Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G from September 25; Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, S23 FE, and S23 Ultra from October 2; Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 from October 2; Galaxy A55 5G, A35 5G, A26, A17, and A17 5G from October 2; Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra from October 6; Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 from October 6; Galaxy A54 5G, A34 5G, A25 5G, A16 5G, A16, A15 5G from October 6; Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9 Plus, Tab S9 Ultra, and Tab S9 FE from October 6; Galaxy S21 FE from October 16; Galaxy A73 5G, A53 5G, A24, A15, A07, A06 5G, and A06 from October 16; Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8 Plus, and Tab S8 Ultra from October 16; and Galaxy A33 5G from October 23.
This schedule greatly expands upon Samsung's initial domestic One UI 8 rollout plan. The list of Galaxy phones and tablets receiving the Android 16 update is condensed due to the absence of November dates from Samsung's Brazil-specific schedule. This news is relevant beyond South America.
Historically, Samsung has initiated stable One UI 8 updates for devices like the Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and A56 simultaneously in Brazil, Europe, and Asia.
US-based Galaxy S25 owners might gain access to Android 16 this week, with the S24 series, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 users potentially following suit by month's end. These dates are preliminary and marked as "starting" in Brazil's schedule, so updates may begin on or after these dates.
If successful, Samsung could reclaim its position as a leader in Android updates after challenges encountered with the Android 15-based One UI 7 rollout, marked by delays and problematic "stable" updates.
Samsung has demonstrated proficiency in previous OS updates, so a successful One UI 8 schedule would not be entirely surprising.
Google has already updated its Pixel devices. While companies like Motorola and OnePlus are actively developing Android 16 updates, their devices may not transition from Android 15 soon.
This situation underscores Samsung's continued dominance in global Android handset sales.
