Samsung's DeX feature on the Z Fold 7 has been significantly improved, making it more appealing.

The One UI 8 update enables users to add any application to the taskbar in Dex. New keyboard settings for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 have been added, offering control over the on-screen keyboard's appearance.

A full-screen button in the app header allows quick window maximization. Previously located in a menu, this feature was introduced to the Galaxy S25 series in a beta version.

Further adjustments are needed for the new Dex to match the classic version, but improvements are expected soon. Besides Samsung, Google can also modify Android Desktop Mode, which should then be reflected in Dex.

The addition of widgets, keyboard settings, and quick window features enhances DeX, making it more practical for daily use. Google's improvements to Desktop Mode suggest ongoing enhancements. Samsung appears to be developing DeX for future use.

Samsung's One UI 8 release is an ambitious project, which may compete with iOS 26, currently available on iPhones.
