Samsung's Galaxy Z TriFold's release date, price, and main specs are likely confirmed.

We've got both good and bad news to report on Samsung's first-ever triple-folding phone.
Samsung is expected to unveil its first-of-a-kind product on December 5, according to two news sources in South Korea. The date falls on a Thursday, which is unusual for a global Galaxy Unpacked event, as these product launches usually occur on Wednesdays and never in December. It will likely be a smaller event to disclose the phone's specifications, features, capabilities, and release details.
According to several sources, sales may be limited to major markets such as China, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and South Korea. The chances of ordering the Galaxy Z TriFold in the US or Europe soon seem unlikely.
In South Korea, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 variant is rumored to be quite expensive, potentially ranging from just under 3 million to over 4 million won. Yonhap News' "industry sources" say that 3 million won is about $2,045, and 4 million won is around $2,725.
The Chosun Daily estimates a price point of about $3,000 (or about 4.4 million Korean won), making Samsung's initial production goal of 20,000 to 30,000 units seem achievable.
Reported specifications:
* 10-inch primary display
* 6.5-inch external panel
* 5,600mAh battery
* 4.2mm thickness (unfolded)
* 14mm thickness (folded)
These are the only confirmed specifications for the Galaxy Z TriFold. The marketing name is also not yet finalized.
The display sizes have been rumored for months. While impressive, the device measurements are not surprising after images leaked last week.
The 4.2mm thickness matches the Z Fold 7's thickness when unfolded. The 14mm thickness when folded is more than the five-month-old foldable but still good for a triple-folding device, like the Huawei Mate XTs Ultimate.
Huawei's second-generation triple-folding phone has a 5,600mAh battery, so Samsung seems ready to compete in this area. The Galaxy Z TriFold could have a durability advantage over its competitor because its main screen folds inward twice. This is likely a key factor in its high price.
Its success may depend on its durability and functionality, which will need to be exceptional to justify the device's existence.
