Samsung's lack of clarity about the Galaxy S26 Plus model is causing concern.

Is the Galaxy S26 Plus coming after all? Is the Galaxy S26 Edge cancelled? Do you even care? Should you even care?
A recent, unexpected report suggests Samsung might release Galaxy S26 Plus and S26 Edge models in addition to the Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Ultra next year.
These rumors contrast earlier reports of a smaller Galaxy S26 lineup with a single Edge model succeeding both the Galaxy S25 Plus and S26 Edge. The latest information from Korean media hints at a possible alteration in Samsung's plans for its next flagship phones.
The Galaxy S25 Edge has been criticized for its slim design and limited internal space, particularly its 3,900mAh battery.
Initial excitement about the Galaxy S26 Edge potentially combining a thin design with a larger battery has waned as expected battery capacity decreased. The S25 Edge's existence seemed intended to rival Apple's iPhone Air, and while Samsung had initially appeared to change course, the original suspicion has resurfaced.
There are reservations about praising Samsung for potentially recognizing the Galaxy S25 Edge as a mistake.
Despite this, there's still hope that the S26 Edge could succeed if it maintains its predecessor's distinctive character and incorporates innovative features, such as a large battery in a slim design using advanced silicon-carbon technology.
The ideal Galaxy S26 Plus would feature a compact 6.2-inch screen, a triple-lens rear camera with a 200MP primary sensor, and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
The problem is that the S26 Plus may resemble the unpopular S25 Plus too closely. The S26 Edge and S26 Plus could also negatively affect each other's sales. The Galaxy S26 Edge is expected to feature an unusual design, but its appearance is questionable.
Samsung's main issue is the absence of a clear, long-term strategy for the Galaxy S series. There is growing interest in the Galaxy S26 Edge compared to the S26 Plus.
