Samsung's One UI 8.5 is rumored to include enhanced professional camera features for Galaxy phones.

Samsung appears to be working on powerful new camera features that could come with the Galaxy S26.
One UI 8.5 will offer multiple LUTs in the built-in video editor when shooting videos in log format, according to a tweet by @achultra. Log video provides a flat, neutral look for precise color correction during editing. LUTs are presets that modify the appearance of Log footage, like filters for photos. The One UI 8.5 settings show LUT options such as Standard, Blockbuster, Thriller, and Romantic Comedy.
One UI 8.5 might also simplify 3D photo and video capture. Currently, a separate app is needed, but @LaidBackDev_ on X discovered references to 3D capture and APV (Advanced Professional Video) within the One UI 8.5 Camera app's code.
The code suggests potential limitations for 3D shooting, such as only working with the wide-angle lens, and warnings about insufficient lighting. The mode might also restrict GIF and burst photo capabilities. The APV format could appear in the Gallery app, offering conversion to HEVC.
These upgrades may benefit the Galaxy S26. While some features may be available on older Galaxy devices, Samsung could promote the Galaxy S26 series as a better tool for professional-grade video creation, similar to Apple's strategy with the iPhone 17 series.
With Project Moohan's upcoming release, Samsung is likely making video and photo creation more accessible. Apple is also promoting spatial video, photos, and audio to encourage content creation for the Apple Vision Pro.
