T-Mobile customers are largely unconcerned about potential costs associated with free line promotions.

T-Mobile's Consumer Group President, Jon Freier, stated in September 2025 that the company has the chance to improve customer connections using other services and gain further traction from devices such as tablets, watches, or 5G home broadband.

T-Mobile can also encourage customers to purchase additional products or services. Customers may think T-Mobile is covering the expense of their free lines, but the majority ultimately produce more business for the company, making it advantageous for T-Mobile.

To assess consumer attitudes on this strategy, a poll was conducted to see if readers thought it was dishonest. The vast majority were unconcerned.

Out of 4,834 PhoneArena readers who responded, 2,247 (47%) felt the deal benefited both the carrier and its subscribers. While most respondents were okay with free lines being utilized to create more revenue for T-Mobile, 1,406 (29%) considered it suspicious. Some people had conflicting feelings but were relieved to still be benefiting from their extended time with T-Mobile, even with potential spending increases. Some dismissed it, emphasizing that free lines were not legally binding in any manner.

Customers are aware that businesses are not charities and have hidden motives for their actions. Their acceptance in this case is most likely due to the fact that they are receiving a decent return. This serves as an example for organizations that want to not only keep customers but also boost their spending. Customers will gladly deepen their relationship with you if they are well cared for.
