T-Mobile customers may want to order their new iPhones directly from T-Mobile, not Apple.

The Apple Store site shows some T-Mobile subscribers receiving less than half of the amount for their trade-in as promised.
The new iPhone 17 series is available for pre-order today, and high demand is expected, a contrast from the more subdued interest in last year's iPhone 16. As reported last week, major carriers are offering deals on the new iPhone 17 line, with some providing significant discounts for trade-ins.
Some T-Mobile subscribers are reporting on social media that Apple's website is displaying incorrect trade-in credit amounts. One Reddit user, "armendegga," posted that the corrected $1,100 discount was not showing during the order process. The user contacted T-Force to confirm the full credit would still be applied.
The T-Mobile subscriber contacted T-Force, the carrier's customer service team, to verify the trade-in value. T-Force confirmed that the customer was entitled to the $1,100 credit, despite the Apple Store website showing an incorrect value of $520.
Another Reddit user, dave_campbell, also reported a similar issue. According to the user, while the correct pricing appeared on T-Mobile's website, the cart showed discounts but required a $400 payment and listed a $45 monthly credit.
Other users on Reddit also reported seeing incorrect trade-in amounts when attempting to order through the Apple Store. Despite these errors, many customers proceeded with their orders, trusting that T-Mobile would honor the correct trade-in value.
Ordering with an incorrect trade-in value displayed is risky, unless confirmation of the correct credit amount is received from T-Force. Otherwise, it may be prudent to explore alternate pre-order methods or wait for Apple to correct the issue.
However, strong pre-order demand for the iPhone 17 series means that any delay could affect delivery dates. Some may choose to order a different model or color to expedite the process, despite it not being their first choice.
T-Mobile subscribers facing this issue can seek written clarification from T-Force by sending a direct message to @TMobileHelp on X. Customers can also send a private message through Messenger on the official T-Mobile Facebook page or request T-Force when chatting with a T-Mobile agent online or in the app.
