T-Mobile has confirmed a previously rumored change.

This is Mike Sievert's last month as T-Mobile's CEO.
I'm very excited to share that Srini Gopalan will be our next CEO. When I hired Srini as our COO, he possessed the skills, experience, and Un-carrier attitude to guide our company forward.
Sievert and Srini collaborated in acquiring companies to grow T-Mobile's fiber network.
I appreciate Mike’s partnership and guidance and am dedicated to building on his customer-centric legacy of industry disruption as we expand our successful Un-carrier strategy.
Previous reports suggested Sievert's departure was due to an inability to maintain his success. Another report indicated T-Mobile was shifting from customer growth to becoming a premium company with a larger fiber presence, with Srini seen as a better fit for this new direction.
Sievert's contract was set to expire in 2028, making his departure seem sudden. The company previously announced the departures of Ulf Ewaldsson, President of Technology, and Callie Field, President of the Business Group, stating the leadership changes aligned with long-term business objectives.
The recent announcement suggests T-Mobile is reducing its offline presence, which is not surprising. The company has been discouraging in-store visits for some time.
Currently, the leadership change doesn't seem to impact customers, but they will be watching to see if Srini resembles Sievert or John Legere.
